The Communications Systems and Networks Lab at ISU is led by Prof. Aditya Ramamoorthy.
The group is involved in a range of research activities. Current thrusts include
1. Network Information Theory: We are actively working in various aspects of network coding, including function computation over networks, networked distributed compression and resource allocation.
2. Distributed Source Coding and Error Control Coding: We have been examining the design and analysis of LDPC codes and algebraic codes, and investigating their application to the distributed source coding problems.
3. Development of signal processing techniques for storage devices and for problems in nanotechnology: We are working on the modeling and design of efficient detectors and codes for various storage devices. Currently, we are investigating storage device based on dynamic mode atomic force microscopy. More generally, we are interested in the development of signal processing methods for problems in the domain of nanotechnology.
